I remembered a ritual that consisted of writing a prayer on a piece of paper. Then attach it to a small stone and, weighted down, throw it into the water. You had to dive in immediately to try and catch the stone before it sank to the bottom or the writing evaporated in the water… If you managed to do this, you were guaranteed that your wish would come true… I’ve seen kids do this on the cliffs of Bukit.
