The work is built around a story: the disappearance of a young explorer in search of unknown landscapes, set in 1930. Kozlomov sets off one fine morning to relive the journey of a cartographer (Thevenot) as far as Kamchatchka. But he gets lost and disappears. There could be many reasons for his disappearance. This initiatory tale, which is an opportunity to explore the fictional dimension of landscape, takes the form of large panoramic images secretly studded with cartographic elements (Russian maps of Kamchatka), videos that play on the substitution of the character and the photographer, and a postcard.

This project benefited from a residency at the Centre Photographique d’Ile-de-France.
