The pilgrimage index

Between 1978 and 1982, Maryon Parque and Ibrahim Babouzad constantly exchanged their photographic archives, and it was a necessity for them to be able to take a dynamic look at their images.The Pilgrimage Index brings this research up to date.The idea is to show the archives as latent images, as promises that are still invisible, as a living theatre of memory.The idea is then to play with fragments of images according to different rules (playful, narrative, magic-interpretative, etc.).

During a residency in Liévin, I’m going to invite people with a strong link to a ‘distant land’ to come and share their archives and work together to find the rules of the game to energise the circulation of fragments (presented in the format of playing cards).
